Ever wondered what it was like to be an ambassador for IconInc? Here’s an insight into what it entails to be an ambassador. Social Media Creating content and being active on social media is a must. This involves posting Instagram stories and grid posts about life at IconInc. This can be hanging out with friends in the cinema room, cooking up a feast in the communal kitchens or cramming for that final exam. Whatever is going on in your life, share it as it is all part of the highs and lows of being a student. Filming Content Creating YouTube and TikTok videos is a fun and great way to showcase aspects of your student life. It can be on anything such as a day in your life, an easy recipe to make, a room tour or walks to try in the local area. It can help to take your mind off uni work and enable the development of video editing skills. It is so rewarding when the final piece is completed. Monthly Events Helping decide and create monthly events is one of the best things about being an ambassador. Choose and tailor events that students in your accommodation would love to participate in. Some of the monthly ambassador events created at The Ascent include a mocktail making evening, study kits and Operation Christmas Child. Friendly Face Most importantly, be that friendly face around the accommodation. Say hi to people, make friends and be the one to organise social gatherings. With the global pandemic drastically changing the university experience, the best way to have a good balance between studying and life is to socialise safely within the accommodation. As a law student, the role of an ambassador couldn’t be more vastly different to the world of law. Nevertheless, I am developing a lot of transferable skills for my future endeavours. No matter what degree you study, being an ambassador is very rewarding. If this sounds like something you are interested in, sign up and become an ambassador!
