One thing you’ll never be short of in Leeds is somewhere to drink. But, that’s why you chose to study here in the first place right?! From good, hearty, old fashioned pubs serving up low price ales, to trendier joints playing the latest sounds, there’s something to suit every wallet, taste and mood in this welcoming city.

    The Skyrack

With bargain offers on food, beer, prosecco and Jaeger, this unpretentious pub is a magnet to locals as well as the students of Leeds. As the only place in Headingly beaming BT Sports to its customers and boasting an outdoor seating area, there’s a lot to love about The Skyrack.

    Belgrave Music Hall and Canteen

The Belgrave is never short of customers and it’s not hard to figure out why. As well as a huge indoor space complete with pizza oven and burger kitchen, upstairs you’ll find arguably the coolest rooftop terrace in Leeds, complete with Wendy House and bar. They also host a diverse range of events, including live music, comedy and music festivals.

    The Original Oak

As soon as spring kicks in and the Ray-Bans come out, you’ll need to arrive pretty early at The Original Oak to guarantee a space in their fantastic beer garden. With major sports shown on their huge outdoor screen and a BBQ over summer, this joint can become like a second home to some. When the rain pours, inside the bar stretches over two floors with pool available downstairs.

    Sid’s Little Egg

This new kid on the block has already made a big impression, and can be found just over the road from legendary pub, The Adelphi. Sports fans visiting Sid’s Little Egg can play pool and sip beer watching the match downstairs, while the upstairs bar shake-up up a mean range of cocktails.

    The Dry Dock

The last call on the infamous Otley Run, The Dry Dock is basically a boat that has been transformed into a pub and can be found on Woodhouse Lane just before you get to the city centre. With its unassuming charm, cheap drinks, pool table and grass bank, this little gem really does make a refreshing change.

    Nation of Shopkeepers

If beards, tattoos and funky craft ales float your boat, then this supercool bar will satisfy the hipster in you. With regular bands treading the boards here and a menu boasting to-die-for burgers, street food and hot dogs, Nation of Shopkeepers is the perfect place to overdose on food and music.

The Brotherhood of Pursuits and Pastimes

Take the classic sports bar and give it an urban edge of sophistication and you get Brotherhood. Housed over two floors in the oh-so-trendy Northern Quarter, this sizeable venue had not seen much luck in its various clubbing incarnations, but has really found its groove in its current form. Enjoy all the biggest sports on its huge screens as you sup a beer and chow down on their artisan pies.

    Mojo

Playing the coolest, classic rock and indie sounds since 1996, Mojo is a Leeds institution, having been at the top of its game for two whole decades. Soak up the sounds of The Doors, Bowie and Oasis as their expert mixologists whip you up a cocktail storm. They also happen to serve up an inspired USA meat-centric menu that’s sure to soak up any excess alcohol.

    The White Rabbit

Formerly Baby Jupiter, The White Rabbit has managed to bounce back in place of one of Leeds best loved bars and offer something equally as unique and appealing. Head down its stairs on York Place and you’ll discover a space where Alice in Wonderland meets Ziggy Stardust. Oh, and the guy that owns it and runs the bar is a dead ringer for Jack Sparrow for all you Depp fans.
